'41 ford pickup- dented top the top of my '41 pickup cab had been dented, bondo, painted with lacquer but has tiny spider-cracks. Paint remover did not cut the lacquer. I've sanded the lacquer-bondo areas smooth; will the tiny spider-cracks come apart?
What should I do? thanks for your partcipation, fordman |
Re: '41 ford pickup- dented top You need some good aircraft paint remover from an auto paint store, expensive but works and will burn your hands. What is sold in the big box stores is useless.

Re: '41 ford pickup- dented top the paint remover is aircraft 'KLEEN STRIP".
can anyone give me a brand that is a good on for lacquer? fordman....thank you! |
Re: '41 ford pickup- dented top Using paint stripper on paint over bondo will soak into the bondo. Never heard lacquer being that hard to remove. Cracks are probably an old paint job. May be better with the sanding off the paint, if just the roof.
