Model "A" Fords did not use Vin Tags......the Vin was hand stamped onto the frame.

wasn't the motor # the same as the frame # mine is

Here in California if you try to register a Model A that is from out of state or has lost paper work the DMV has to verify the VIN # before they will issue you a new title. They can not see the vin# because of where it located so they issue a new vin # and attach a vin # tag to your car. They will not accept the motor #.

With some of the intelligence you find in some DMV offices, having a number tag like this would be a real asset to you.
