Mine is the same Chinese crap as this manufacture, people are reworking this unit and doing with it the way the want they are so cheap to buy wholesale unbranded ! I will report back on Barn when mine is installed and tested.......... |

I bet the Chinese could make this a very well engineered product if customers would pay the price, excluding COVID 19. |

Re: This distributor setup looks very cool The ability to be able to control the AF ratio and ignition timing under ALL operating conditions, is called "Engine management". All cars sold today have some form of this Technology. It's nice to see this being adapted to our beloved Flathead. By doing so, the engine should last much longer, have ore power and excellent fuel economy. I've been trying to do this for the mast few years and with the help fron Richard from FL came pretty close. The best part of it was all the information was posted here on the barn, and ignored by many. I hope someone on here will spend the time and money to test this product as well as richard did.

Re: This distributor setup looks very cool We haven't run it yet but we put a 6 volt Pertronix in a 35 crab. We started with a 6 volt Rolls Royce unit and had to make a jig to machine the inside of the unit to fit on the crab. Also will be running a 6 volt alternator in original case to control the fluctuation in voltage. It worked well running on a Sum machine but no real road test yet. Dave/Green Bay

Re: This distributor setup looks very cool mechanical advance using a 11A internals and vacuum for the brake. Pretty much like original with the exception of the Pertronix. I think I have some pictures at home if interested.

Something i have learned over the years (60 plus years with cars) is that the factory is going to do everything they can to make the product ( in this case a gasoline engine) the very best they can . The top of the line line flatheads from the factory ran 11 degrees ( 22 degrees engine ) of spark advance at 2500 rpm . Some early models ran 8 degrees ( 16 engine) . Now if we take that as the desired rate then why change it ?? The video shown here shows the effects of taking advance out of the engine , losing torque and hp. SO no matter what ya do to the engine this base line doesnt really change ! We spent a fortune on our Bonneville engine to make 181 hp at 4300 rpm while my friend down the street is making over 1000 hp with twin turbo monster mustang !!! Just clean it up, make it the best it can be and go on ! I am getting ready to take a look at some of these jap ignitions based on the look as well for a customer will report when done .......:eek: |
