I'm looking for a 1934 v8 1/2 ton pickup transmission floor cover Eckler's states in there catalog theirs fits a 34 pickup but from personal experience it doesn't come close to fitting. I can't find one anywhere online. Does someone at least have a picture of one or have a line on one?

34pu- here is a photograph of the original cover for my pickup. Also a battery cover and spacer for pedals and steering tube.

Great pic. Does the trans cover attach to a wood floor or is it metal like the toe board? Thanks for any info. Jerry 817-991-8263

Jerry, the floor in my truck is mostly plywood with a transverse metal "toe board" in front, both secured by countersunk machine screws.

The metal transmission cover (pictured) has some woven fabric type anti rattle material around the periphery underneath, but is held in place only by the floormat. The metal battery cover is secured by two wood screws.

The floor in the compartment beneath the seat cushion is all metal, and not removable.

My trans cover has two holes on each side and one on the end with slotted head screws to secure it to the floorboard. The battery cover is the Model "A" type with the underside
pressure spring bars.

Al's28/33 set up is as original. The two holes in the battery cover plate weren't for attachment purposes, but rather to facilitate it being placed on a hook on a conveyor line for dip painting as it is so written on the original engineering drawing (it is a carryover Model A part). The transmission cover was securely attached with flat head slotted wood screws and countersunk washers to ensure that it was properly positioned and not touching the shift lever housing or hand brake handle.

Here are some photos of the battery cover referred to above. The cover allows access to the battery terminals, however the wood floorboard must be removed in order to take the battery out (not a difficult job). Not certain why my transmission cover has no attachment points- it is obviously an old replacement or reproduction.

If anyone has an original floormat for 33-34 pickup please consider posting a photo.

My floormat is a modern rubber matt that I custom fit to slide up under the firewall insulation and very neatly trimmed along the doors, kick-panels and front seat riser. It was a bear to fit, even after making a template first.

On further thought (and research) I believe that Ford deleted the screw attachment and therefore the holes in the cover plate as a cost savings running change during the '34 model year.

That is interesting as the transmission cover plate in my 34 pickup also has no holes drilled in it for screws.

On the battery cover post, one of your images you have a tape but not on the other. Is there a way you could post the length and width measurements for the cover.

The battery cover plate is a carryover Model A part. Snyder's offer an excellent reproduction under license from Ford.

Thanks. I have talked to him. I am just trying to verify that the 32 pickup battery cover is the exact same as the 34 pickup. So far I have had been getting that they are. But I just want to verify before I buy one.
