1930 Tudor Slide Lock Question My slide door lock was frozen on the drivers side. A little PB Blaster, and overnight, the slider did work, but it didn't lock door. I then opened the door and attempted to slide the lock towards the lock position and hold, and it did lock the driver's door, but as soon as I released the pressure on the knob, and rotated the outer handle, I felt a little resistance, and then it was unlocked. So to lock, I had to maintain constant pressure on the slider. Not sure if there is something else I need to look at to correct.
Is there a detailed procedure to take the door panels off as I don't want to damage them while removing them(both front and rear panels)? I also have a secondary issue where when rolling up the window it jams at the 3/4 up mark, and releases when I pull up the door latch a little. It would be good to care for those two issues, as well as lubricating (white lithium grease) the regulator mechanism. |
