Well someone got a deal. Because of COVID public was not allowed at auction so I didn’t get to watch. |
Re: 1934 Ford auction results That seems to be the going price for a 4dr.There has been a '33 4dr advertised here,on the HAMB and V8 Website $25K and reduced to $22K but hasn't sold.
|
Re: 1934 Ford auction results I'm surprised that the price was that high for a 4 door.

Re: 1934 Ford auction results I was scrolling thru all the results and a lot of them did seem high. I think some of the proceeds go to support the museum. I’m Surprised lot#321 56 Ford went for that much, it very rusty underneath.

Re: 1934 Ford auction results How much buyer premium??? That affects prices too
|
Re: 1934 Ford auction results I have a lot of 1 seat cars but when I want to take people with once in a while(which is more fun) you need 2 seats. I find the 4 drs in the young hot rod family more than the old men in hot rod family. Especially 32’s. Try to go to a car lot today and find a 2dr car.

Re: 1934 Ford auction results 10% buyers fee at Saratoga Auctions. Consignee fee is 5% for no reserve and 7% reserve auction.

Re: 1934 Ford auction results Those midgets sure went cheap!!!
|
Re: 1934 Ford auction results That 46 woodie seemed like a reasonable price for what looked like a nice car. Other prices seemed high.

Doesn't matter where you are in the world . My 34 Fordor was brought for NZ$65,000 5 years ago and at the time it was thought I got the steal of the decade -A very similar car recently sold (with difficulty) for a little over NZ$50,000. I actually like the Fordor as I do a lot of motoring and it is much more practical for long trips and holidays. Years ago I considered my car collection as an investment and a source of pleasure -Its now mostly the latter Karl |
Re: 1934 Ford auction results It's the old 30 year rule. Today's old car buyer does not look to relive driving around with his grandpa in a '34 ford. It was an early bronco, and today sells for twice what the '34 gets. I saw in the latest Hagerty magazine that a low mile original '88 toyota landcruiser wagon just went for 84,000.00 at auction. That's an 'old car' today.

Re: 1934 Ford auction results agree^^^, its the old folks that have the money, and they usually want what they wanted in high school.
|
Re: 1934 Ford auction results As I said before, if I was in this old car hobby for the money I would sell them all right now because the selling price will only continue down. But I am not, and my son can give them away if he wants to (which I doubt) after I am gone.

Re: 1934 Ford auction results You guys that think that was a high price, I think it was on target. I am weird though. I imagine myself in 1933 and given I have a kid, two dogs and a wife I would walk into a ford dealer and buy a phaeton or a 4 door. I have a few somewhat rare fords but my 33 4 door (avatar photo) is my favorite of all of them. My opinion is more doors are more fun! I lose interest in 4 doors after 1934.
To me a 32-34 Ford 4 door sedan unlike later years has great styling. I can’t believe someone hasn’t bought that 1933 on the V-8 Club site |
Re: 1934 Ford auction results Yep , for sure the 1933-34 Ford four door sedan is a very smart looking car and much more practical than a coupe or a roadster. Bonnie and Clyde will vouch for that because plenty of room for food, blankets and guns and ammo in the back seat. That auction car in the USA at $23,000 was a bargain. Try buying one in Australia that hasnt been hot rodded at that price, more like double that price. A great car for sure. Regards, Kevin.

Re: 1934 Ford auction results The 1934 model year was the last year Ford incorporated four 'suicide' doors - a thing of beauty to behold when all four are open....
