My 1935 Ford 3 Window Coupe has arrived in OZ Hi Barners,
I have been on this site for a little while now but never really introduced myself. My name is Pete and I live about 2 hours out of Sydney Australia.I have posted a few comments on this site and also purchased various parts from some real decent sellers. I purchased 2 - 35 3 windows out of the USA last year. One from a Barner in CA. and one from out of OK. This is the story of the 35 from OK. I purchased this one way back in April 2012. It has taken 11 months to reach my place in OZ. When I had it shipped to Orange CA for transport to OZ, the shipper found that the VIN numbers on the chassis did not match the Title. Being over here in OZ and along way from Orange CA, I had to rely on my shipper to apply for a New title, which ended up being a real Drama. Anyway it is here now and I would like to share it with you all. I have History back to 1960, and with permission of the previous owner ( Jerry ) I will post pictures and information he has provided. First picture is with Jerry in Oklahoma early 2012 http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/...psfce38a99.jpg |

Re: My 1935 Ford 3 Window Coupe has arrived in OZ Thanks for the kind words folks.
I have been very lucky for sure and will keep posting infrormation for all. The Engine in the 3 window is an 8ba. I have not attempted to turn it over yet. Juice brakes fitted and appears to be 42 -46 Wishbones.- The bent up type Gearbox is original Looks like a 46-48 Banjo The Front and rear springs have a very interesting set up. Will also post pictures on this. I have a real good letter and other infromation from Jerry which I will post tonight when I get home. Off to work I go. Pete |

Re: My 1935 Ford 3 Window Coupe has arrived in OZ Pete, gotta love those 35 3W coupes. My first car as a teen back in the late 50's was a 35 3W coupe so I guess there will always be a place in my heart for them. I wanted to buy one recently for my collection but wound up buying a nice 5W instead. Congratulations on getting yours and good luck with your restoration project. Maybe think about keeping a running post to report progress with pictures.

Re: My 1935 Ford 3 Window Coupe has arrived in OZ I bought a 35 3-W in57 & drove it for a couple years.Sold it to a kid as his 1st car & the 1st thing he did was cut off the top to make an open car!I lived in a coastal rain forest at the time,so i bet he regretted doing that.

Re: My 1935 Ford 3 Window Coupe has arrived in OZ Here is exactly how the advertisement read before my negotiations began.
WOW.... 1935 Ford 3 Window Coupe....BARN FIND. Probably the last barn find anywhere. Last Driven in 1963 and then parked in a Barn. Later model flathead needs work or replaced. Remainder of drive train is stock. All Steel... All There. Jerry sent to me Registration Papers and other information going back to 1960. Reading the 1960 Registration the 35 belonged to a J Hale, and it says on the paperwork - This vehicle has been torn down and not in operation for the year 1960. Jerrys Cousin Vernon purchased tyhe 35 in July 1963 and kept it right up to December 2011, when Jerry then decided that he would have it to rebuild. It became clear to Jerry that it was to late for him to rebuild it, and with regrets he decided to sell it. I have continued to be in contact with Jerry for the past 11 months, and here is his response when I informed him that the 35 had arrived in OZ. And as I mentioned in my first post, I asked for Jerrys permission to share details of the Coupe. GLAD YOU FINALLY GOT THE CAR--I STILL HAVE SELLERS REMORSE FOR SELLING IT SOMETIMES---IT IS FINE WITH ME IF YOU WANT TO PRINT THE PICTURE-- GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP ME UPDATED!!! THANKS JERRY |
