1946 Ford pickup steering wheel

Iam putting together a 46 pickup and don't have steering wheel.Currently I have the steering box with a 4 inch stub shaft. I will need to splice a steering shaft onto it. I will pick up a piece of 1 1/2 steel pipe for the column and use a wheel barrow bearing for the top. I saw a 48-53 pickup wheel for sale on eBay. Will it fit? Are steering wheels available new? Your suggestions please!! Thanks

sorry it will not. in 1948 ford went to a splined shaft, before that it was a tapered with a key way. your steering wheel is a 40 standard fits all pick ups from 1940 to 47

I believe that the 40-47 1/2T pickups used basically the same 2 spoke steering wheel as the '40 and up cars that fit the tapered shaft. Not sure that it was the "deluxe style" but that's what is commonly used now as they are reproduced.
