Hasler's 1931 Slant Windshield Town Sedan In the November/December 1992 issue of 'The Restorer" ("Buried, but not forgotten"; Volume 37, Issue 4, page 16) Jon Hasler recounts how he discovered - and then recovered from a ravine on a local farm - the body of the 1931 Slant Windshield Town Sedan his father had purchased new. The article ends with the statement that "the body...now sits in my driveway awaiting its restoration."
Does anyone know the outcome of this restoration? |
Re: Hasler's 1931 Slant Windshield Town Sedan Hi Skip
I can help you with your question. The car was completed in 1995 with a total of three cars to build it. I am still driving the car to this day. You can see pictures here on the hamb. Regards Jon Hasler |
Re: Hasler's 1931 Slant Windshield Town Sedan We don't have ravines back East so I'm guessing this was a rust free West Coast find. Bob

Re: Hasler's 1931 Slant Windshield Town Sedan The car was buried in sand up to the door handles. It had slowly sunk in the sand over a period of forty years. The body was rusted pretty bad. Hence I used several cars to bring it back to life. I have pictures posted on the board here . Just click on my name to see the car. These pictures were taken last summer so you are looking at a 18 year old restoration.

Re: Hasler's 1931 Slant Windshield Town Sedan Thanks
I could only use portions of my Fathers car. It took five years to build. It was worth the effort. My boys and my wife and I still go driving with it. It was at the Wisconsin Iola Car Show this year in the roped off area just a stones throw from a Tucker. That would be a very long throw. :) I am currently building a speedster with the spare parts I had left over from my dads car restoration. |
