The Model A versus All Other Fords

1 Attachment(s)
Ford's official twitter is doing an NCAA style tournament bracket that pits a lot of their historically significant vehicles up against each other.

The Model A is up against the Ranchero in the first round and is currently up by 70 votes with less than 7 hours to go. The Model A was up by almost 120 votes yesterday but the Ranchero crowd came through and is narrowing the gap.

If you have twitter run over and vote real fast.

The whole bracket can be viewed here.

The A will win because of sheer numbers! The legitimate vote is s person that has owned both!!

The 1932 Ford is being destroyed by the 66 GT40. Not a lot of legitimate votes in that face off.

What is a Ranchero? We didn't see them. That is a serious question and probably highlights the absurdity of the survey.

Yes, that image looks like a copy of the Australian Ute. What powered them, when were they made - Oh, the questions!!!

This is fun and a neat idea.

Unfortunately I do not have Twitter so could not vote.

Personal experience. After having owned several antique Fords, the Model A has always been the last one to let me down. Since I started fooling with Model A's in 1971, I've never had to be flatbedded home with a Model A:):)

Oh that and my '67 Galaxie 500 with a 390, that car wore like iron one of the best I ever owned. I never did anything to it. Never had to.

It seems my impression was right. This is from the wikipedia link you gave:

During the 1970s, the Ranchero name was used in the South African market for a rebadged Australian Ford Falcon utility. Shipped from Australia in complete knock down (CKD) form, these vehicles were assembled in South Africa at Ford's plant in Port Elizabeth.[3] In Argentina, a utility version of the locally produced Ford Falcon was also called Ranchero.[4
