I used to get a fair amount of Model A parts from Carlin Manufacturing and Distributing, Beaumont, TX., many years ago, attached is a photo of my last catalog dates 1983, with notes where l updated rear axle parts pricing.
Sometime shortly after this catalog was published, l ordered a set of 3:54 ring and pinion, for $195 from Carlin. I recall calling down there to see if my parts had been shipped yet and got someone there who informed me that their shop and inventory had just burned up in a fire, and they had no idea of the status of my order, fortunately a few days later my parts arrived. They were great to deal with, they sold good parts and if you said no imported junk then they understood. Vintage Auto in Woodenville, WA was also a terrific place to do business around that time, and Bert would answer on Mondays and remind me be was closed that day at Bert's Model A.
