32 Ford Wrecker

This looks like a fun one.... don't see many 33s that aren't restored or rodded.

Sorry, called it a 32 in the title...can't change it.

Cab and hood details says it's a '34, looks like a lot of interest already. Surely a "fixer-upper!"

Something more rare than the tow truck, in the back ground looks like an early 70s maverick or comet, must have been parked before it could rust away. Maybe it was the truck's last haul.

You can edit the title by hitting the "edit" button, then when that box comes up hit the "go advanced" button and you'll have the screen to edit the title.

That is a 34 Cab & Hood and flull float rear axle and I would bet money it;s a 34 not a 33

And who would not mind visiting Ottertail this time of year to try out that chainsaw you have had sitting in the shed all winter?

With that side view mirror you could probably see all the way into Michigan (or Emeryville, CA?) (where "Mater" #95 would surely rather be).

I've bought vehicles from this guy before. He's a straight shooter if anyone is interested. Usually prices his reserve right too. I was at his place a few years ago picking up a 49 Chev p/up, he must have had 30 of them sitting there. Hauls vehicles out of North Dakota, Montana, and South Dakota.

Paul in CT It's my understanding that commercial vehicles
Run a couple of years behind in grilles. For example LeMays has a35school bus with a 33/34 stylegrille. Chuck

It's got a 32 grill. The 33/34 had a slanted back grill, cars and trucks.

I'm not sure it's not slanted. Think the camera angle makes it look straight. 32 had the V8 logo on the headlight bar not the grill like 33 and 34. It appears to be a deep commercial hood and 32 did not have the stainless trim ring on commercial grills. 32 had no V8 logo on the hood. It does have a 34 cab.

Re: 32 Ford Wrecker

The '32 truck grilles are very similar to the '33-4 in overall shape/appearance. The primary difference is the depth, the '33-4 are approximately 2" deeper toward the hood end. There are differences in emblems, and only the '34 had the trim ring around the bars from the factory. It's not uncommon for the earlier shells to have the trim ring retrofitted, and it fits perfectly in a good shell.
