I will be going to Middleville Michigan to do some family tree research, I see the Gilmore museum is close by, how much time should a guy allow to see it? A few hours? a whole day? Have my mail forwarded? Thanks, Clyde

You could easily spend the day.

What time of year would you be going? Weekdays or weekend?

You would need a minimum of 4 hours and could spend all day. The grounds only take second place to the cars.

Check the website for weekend activities.

I'm thinking Tuesday, it is supposed to be great weather, no weekend traffic, just the speed bump I call Chicago. Thanks for the replies, I've checked their web site and I thought I'd get some advice from people that have been there. Thanks again, Clyde

They have a diner on the grounds so you don't have to leave when hungry. Decent food......... Gar Williams

I think you would feel like it was worth your while if you could spend half a day, but if you REALLY like cars, a full could be spent. You will be impressed. Be aware that there's some Model A's but the new Model A museum is not up and running yet. There's also nice library coming along, in case you want to do any car research.

The diner is nice--a reasonably authentic rennovation of an actual imported diner. However, only stuff that can be heated without a flame is available. Good hot dogs and pie. There's more of a traditional restaurant down the road a mile or so in downtown Hickory Corners (!).

There's also an old-timey gas station restored. Ross's car is parked in front of it in his little avatar picture.

If I heard right it is the premier auto museum that is open to the public. It's also a "teaching" museum and IIRC on Tues and Thurs. afternoons they have classes for "at risk" high school students. If you could see what they're doing you'd be impressed.
