A lot of parts (and other things) are increasing in price, partly due to the trade sanctions our government put on import of materials. FWIW I paid $275 per Stipe shock in 12/2014, so $35 increase in ~6 years.

From what I hear they are worth every penny. I doubt they are getting rich making these. NFI :)

Well, you guys talked me into it...just received 2 new shocks from Stipe.

Do I really have to paint them black??? Love the way they look unpainted :)

Re: Stipe shocks...

I think I would paint them. Otherwise I think they will rust.

I put the Stipes shock on my '31 A pickup. Handles a world better than without.

.
Looks like satin black.
I think they dipped them in high gloss when new.

Re: Stipe shocks...

Nope, Sorry Joop.

Most (all) movable or adjustable parts where sprayed with lacquer.

Re: Stipe shocks...

What would guys say/think if you saw these shocks painted in wheel colour (apple green in my case) rather than black? ;)

Re: Stipe shocks...

Erich,

I took a special satin black. Not deep black. A very little bit grey shadow; "eldered".
