Re: What do we have here Yes. Almost all British and European cars up to the 1950's used a version of these "Trafficators". I have a 1951 Standard Vanguard that has ones similar to the VW in the picture. There were many, many variations as I have found out in trying to source a replacement lens for one of mine. Mine are even self-cancelling. Don't know if the earlier ones were.
