Re: International Model A Ford Day? International Model A day won't be happening here. We are locked down and even by then, won't be allowed out for something not essential. That is a pity because our club uses that day to remember members who have passed on. Their families (if they still own the car) are asked to attend and the (what I call) ghost cars are parked together. During the day, time is taken to remember them. I'll still be thinking of them.

Re: International Model A Ford Day? Looks like there is hope on this Covid-19 thing. The Internet sure is useful.
The 1968 Pandemic was a combination of the 1957 Virus and a new one that broke out. I remember a bunch of us got very sick in the Central Highlands of Vietnam during the last couple of months of 1968. The 17th Field Hospital did not tell us why we were sick. I did not know that the present day Flu virus is related to the 1968 virus (see below. Started with some birds (Avian Flu) again. from Internet: About the 1968 Hong Kong flu Pandemic: Quote 1968 Pandemic (H3N2 virus) The 1968 pandemic was caused by an influenza A (H3N2) virus comprised of two genes from an avian influenza A virus, including a new H3 hemagglutinin, but also contained the N2 neuraminidase from the 1957 H2N2 virus. It was first noted in the United States in September 1968. The estimated number of deaths was 1 million worldwide and about 100,000 in the United States. Most excess deaths were in people 65 years and older. The H3N2 virus continues to circulate worldwide as a seasonal influenza A virus. Seasonal H3N2 viruses, which are associated with severe illness in older people, undergoes regular antigenic drift. Unquote Looks like we might survive if we can get through this one without dying !! |
