One piece distributor shaft?
 

I pulled my Town Sedan's distributor today to rebuild it and immediately noticed that someone had been there before (not surprising in 90 years) - the collar to shaft connection was not the nice tight peened pin that I'm used to seeing, but a cotter pin. O-kay, got that out and then tried to pull the lower shaft out. Nope. Tried to wiggle upper shaft vs. lower shaft to loosen up the collar and again nope. Finally had to grind off the collar and was surprised to find a one piece distributor shaft. I've not seen one before. Given that this distributor has obviously been "gotten into", was the one piece shaft a replacement thing at some point?

And it's quite worn at the bushing area, so new shaft and bushings. But of course I only have a new upper shaft and no lower shaft, so back to the suppliers...

One piece shaft New And Improved, NOT, lol but don't throw away the long shaft, I used it to burnish the new bushings.

I have seen quite a few of them in ones I have rebuilt. You can still buy them as well. People don't like them because of the way it wears bushings.

Cute, thanks for that. $0.17, so that means each half shaft ought to be around $0.09. NOT.
