‘36 fordor project videos

Humbly following in Mart’s steps, I’ve decided to get out in the garage and start working on my project and make some videos while I’m at it.

I’m still working on style, delivery, and content, so please be kind as I figure that stuff out.

Hope you enjoy.

Please feel free to leave production feedback (content, editing, music choice, running commentary/no running commentary etc.) here or in the comments on YouTube.

Of course I look forward to comments and feedback on the actual project here as well.

Thanks!
Mike

Re: ‘36 fordor project videos

Good videos, Mike! Damn you work fast, though. Did that later engine come out of the car, or is it one that you have destined to eventually go into the '36? Those front exhaust manifold bolts are SUPPOSED to be larger vs the two rear ports. The larger ones are 7/16" bolts that require a 5/8" socket to remove.

It's a shame you broke that exhaust bolt. I could see that it showed signs of possibly breaking when you first found it to be so tight. It's possible that you may run across one or more of the head bolts that act the same way. If you encounter one that seems tighter than the rest (likely frozen), I normally try to gingerly move the bolt just barely in the opposite direction (tightening) to see if it may help to break it free. If it does break free, cycle the bolt back and forth (loosening/tightening) in small, but ever increasing increments until it feels loose enough to turn on out. Saves a lot of grief sometimes to invoke a little patience. We're gonna enjoy following along with you. DD

Re: ‘36 fordor project videos

Thanks coop. Your questions make me think maybe I should do an overview of the whole project for a video soon.

The engine is one I picked up to replace the bone stock 21 stud that currently resides in the engine compartment. I was told, and this is what drew me to it, that it has a 4” mercury crank as well as “everything else” like truck pumps that I’d need to put it in the 36.
We’ll find out soon wether it’s true or not!
Thanks for the tips on the bolt removal as well!
