1938 windshield seal

Could someone help me about a 38 windshield frame seal. I have a B.Drake one and it seems like a real struggle to seat it. Any help would be appreciated.

A little soap goes a long way. But, if there is a lot of rust or old rubber in there you will probably struggle a lot. Make sure it is clean and painted down inside.

As stated above, the channel must be clean of all old seal, rust, and scale for the new seal to properly seat. This might require ingenuity in finding /making tools to clean properly. Look at the design of the lip to see where the hard-to-access ledges are.

I prefer glass cleaner to lubricate as it won't come back to haunt you later.
Being certain the channel is 100% CLEAN, as others have mentioned is paramount to seating the new seal.
Get the four "corners" seated before doing any of the horizontal or vertical runs.
