Antifreeze for 24 stud flathead

My '37 has a 99T 24 stud flathead in it. It is time to change the antifreeze in the car so all is good for winter. I have several gallons of Detroit Diesel Power Cool antifreeze left over from the last time I changed the coolant in the engines in my boat. I was wondering if this could be used in the flathead without problems.

Thanks,

I should add that this stuff is basically ethylene glycol with supplementary coolant additives in it. According to the label it meets or exceeds Ford ESE-M97B44-A standards.

It should be fine. It's a standard life coolant so it will need to be renewed after a time.

It's more confusing these days due to all the different formulas for long life and aluminum radiators and the like. GM orange and Ford yellow. I go for the green stuff myself unless I end up with an aluminum engine or cooling system again.

We use propylene glycol sold under the name of Sierra. It is less likely to cause damage to the engine and cooling system in the event of an internal leak. It is also less poisonous to pets around your garage. Just mix it with distilled water according to the instructions on the container.

Where can I get Sierra? Used to get it at Tractor Supply. They don't carry it anymore.

I have used Sierra like Supereal for years. Local NAPA is where I get mine.

If I didn't have the Detroit Diesel antifreeze laying around in the garage, I would probably buy propylene glycol. This does two things: 1) get the stuff out of the garage an 2) save me a few bucks that I can use for something else.
