Hard to move (sell) heavy items

I have several NOS brake drums (36 front, 40 front 41-46 front inside and outside hubs and a pair of NOS springs (35-36 Ford I believe, front and rear) but shipping costs are prohibitive. What to do? make boat anchors?? (Not ) LOL Suggestions?

Let buyers pay the shipping.

Of course, but they don't wanna. LOL

Re: Hard to move (sell) heavy items

If I needed an NOS '36 brake drum, I would gladly pay the actual shipping (if the selling price was any where near reasonable). Unfortunately, I sold my last '36 25 years ago.:(

I think you asked just the right question here.

Surely we will have more swap meets next year.

Re: Hard to move (sell) heavy items

Maybe we need to take this down time to make sure all the heavy stuff is in graded usable condition, cleaned up, painted and ready for installation, to take to the next swap meet that should be allowed.

No '40-'46 rear drums? I would make a road trip for those.

How close are you to I-75, Lawson? Where in Ga? DD

Yeah. If you're close enough to I-75, I'll be on my way back to Minnesota next April and I could stop by (I'd like to meet you and that "roll of toilet paper"). I could alter my route a bit (I have always enjoyed meeting forum members) and make a couple of deliveries.

A pipe dream maybe, but also a possibility.

I'm in Covington, Ga which is on I-20 about 45 miles east of downtown Atlanta (I-75.)

I sent a 48 lb package from Kerrville to Virginia for $21. I used UPS Simple Rate. Max weight is 50 lbs and the cost is based on size. Probably not good for the springs but might work for the drums.

I need to look into this. Not familiar with it, but seems good.

What we need to do is press the bosses to declare Swap Meets essential services. It would help all those thrown out of work with paying the rent. The state could supply weekend parking lots allover, for free (with sanitary service), to help stimulate our economy. Write your letters. Things can go forward with effort.

Merry
Christmas, & Hanukka.

And maybe a much better New Year

I heard that Napa will ship heavy items at a reasonable price. I have not used them though so I can't say for sure. Maybe worth checking out.
