Hey is it my Model A or do you get a lot of horns/thumbs Up etc. from Biker's (i.e. Motorcycle riders?) when you drive your Model A? I guess the classic looks of Ford Model A: fenders, head lights are like a classic looking motorcycle...

All the time! They usually slow down right beside you till they get your eye, then race off into the wild blue yonder.

I ride a bike, so, I wave to them and they wave to me regardless of which I'm in/on.

In our area there seem to be a lot of older bikers who appreciate us older guys in our A's. We always seem to get thumbs up from them ..... maybe because we choose to be different as they do. We don't get much attention from the younger bikers though.

I have to say I do enjoy the most the smiles from the very older folks when I drive. Ford A's were likely cars they rode in as young kids or drove as young adults during WWII and afterwards... I've been told by them more than once at a traffic light that I'm too young to drive that car... I'm 51, and I nicely reply, "someone has to drive these cars :) "

Harleys and model A's have alot to share. Both companys. Started in 1903 and both are noted for that sweet sound from the exhaust at idle.

Back when I first got mine in running shape, I took it to a couple of local parades and stayed around afterward to meet and greet people. I was surprised at the interest from young women! They were asking for rides. Being a 30-something single man, I was happy to oblige. But it was the car that was the magnet, not me. Still, lots of fun.

Absolutely, and as a motorcyclist, I get it. We tend to be people that just appreciate interesting machines.

Then again...nearly everybody smiles and waves...

I rode a 51 Harley to high school in the early 60's because I couldn't find any Model A's I could afford. The bike cost me a whopping $225. Please don't ask me what became of the bike because it's too embarrassing. Suffice it to say that kids do real stupid stuff.

I live in a very Hispanic area- PR,Cuban, Mexican, Peruvian and the DR they love old cars ,kids really think the horn is the best part,thumbs up and waves all day long!!

Sitting beside a "CROTCH ROCKET GUY" at a stoplight, disguised in leathers & DARK tinted visor, "VROOOM, VROOOM, VROOOM"----"That idiot kid is gonna' kill himself"!!!------Just then he raised his visor momentarily------GEEZ! He's old enuff to be my FATHER!!!---Then he wheelied off, LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL! (I was ENVIOUS!)

I think it has something to do with the fact the Model A is a lot like a 4 wheel motorcycle....basic mechanical equipment and not much on it that's extraneous. Also, like on a bike, you have to pay attention, plan ahead, and sometimes hang on. I often think about Henry's Quadricycle when I'm driving mine.
And, yeah, bikers always wave.

When I'm out on my SUPER SCOOTER, bikers admire my "OUTLAW" BLACK LEATHER 1/2 helmet! I really wanted an old BELL, Drifter helmet, they're "SUPER COOL"!

Maybe 30 years ago two friends and I stopped our Model A at a pullout on a lost country road to have some lunch. About ten minutes later some 15 bikers pulled in and surrounded us, all wearing their colors and leather. These were not the retired baby-boomer type bikers we see today. This was a rough bunch. Before we could say anything, they approached and began exclaiming over the Model A, asking questions about the car and whether we were having trouble or needed help. After about 15 minutes of pleasant conversation they got back on their Harleys and were gone. I don't know why it is, but bikers do seem to be kindred spirits.

Bikers have always appreciated antique cars...for whatever the multitude of reasons....

A group of five or six passed us on our last trip with the woody, each of them slowed down to match our speed, most gave a thumbs up then sped off. This post just reinforced what I was thinking about having something in common--or maybe it is the out of balance washing machine thing...

I really enjoy the motorcycle guys showing their interest in the Model A's. Although, I have almost been side swiped twice by them as they are pulling out their cameras to get pictures of my car as we drive down the road!
