Electric fuel pump test ?

Is it possible to test the pressure put out by my electric fuel pump ?
I would like to know how much fuel pressure I have at the carb.
I am not running a mechanical pump, just the electric one.

Yep just Tee in on pump discharge line to carb and fit a pressure gauge here.
Type of carb in use will dictate required pump discharge pressure.
Too much may cause leak by and too high float level.

Re: Electric fuel pump test ?

I fitted a pressure regulator to my electric 4 psi pump, have no mechanical pump either. Tested it right now and it seemed to help my carburation - no stinking/black smoke anymore and gained another 10 km/h.

You sure can its easy to do using any type of low pressure gauge. To test the pressure output from the pump no need to add a Tee fitting. All you need to do is connect the fuel line thats on the carb directly to the pressure gauge. Once you turn the pump on you will see the pressure output on the gauge from the pump. Some electric pumps will shut down once the flow stops so the pressure reading will go down once that happens. Prior to that you will see the pressure reading on the gauge.

Re: Electric fuel pump test ?

I have a Mr Gasket pressure regulator in line ahead off gauge { cheap regulator } and when the regulator shows 1#, the gauge shows 2 1/2 # which is all the engine requires. I'm also running only electric pump mounted near gas tank on 6 volt system. Without the regulator I had 6# fuel pressure and the engine tried to flood at low speeds. Al
