Old stained and aged 'A'........

on paper taped onto the lower passenger side window facing outward. Backside talks about saving tires from wear. Would someone know what this 'A' is?

Thanks

I have three different ones on my cars. A, B and C. They are indeed a conversation piece especially when someone knows what they are.

Nice to know. I'll need to have a chat up plan in mind when the ladies stop by for a closer look-see who are too young to know what it is. :D

speaking of these things I have 3 certificates of war necessity for my 29 AA truck. They state how many miles a year it could be driven and whatnot.

would anyone who understands this form/gas ration cards be able to tell me what A, B, C window sticker my truck would have had?

WWII gas ration sticker, the A gave you four gallons of gas a week. You also had to tear out ration stamps from your ration book and give them to the gas station to get the gas.
You can google and find stickers you can download and print on your printer, then soak in tea to make it look old and glue it on your windshield.

Nice table! I'm feeling B but what was considered long distance back then?

Doing my math from my certificate if it was allowed 70 gal per quarter year which would be 13 weeks, It would have been allowed ~5.4 Gallons a week.

That's more than the A ration so it would have to be B correct?

Were privately owned farm vehicles considered commercial? Certificate is for a Commercial Vehicle single unit...(possibly a TT ration then)
