1923 Model T Replacement Gas Tank Does anyone know where I can find a fuel tank for a 1923 Model T? The weld at the bottom of the fuel tank where the brass fitting seats had cracked. I’ve tried fixing the crack but it keeps springing leaks. I think it’s time to start searching for a replacement. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2f26766ca5.jpg

Re: 1923 Model T Replacement Gas Tank Fix the one you have. Place and ad here, MTFCA, Facebook pages or parts wanted on AACA. Unless someone has one sitting, dealers are out of stock because the guy making them died. It is not a weld it is soldered.

Re: 1923 Model T Replacement Gas Tank Take it to a reputable radiator repair shop !

Re: 1923 Model T Replacement Gas Tank Brazing should fix it good.
Radiator shops usually do solder, so check if they have person good in brazing. |
Re: 1923 Model T Replacement Gas Tank Originally, they were soldered not brazed. Considering the thickness of the tank steel being so much thinner than the cast brass sediment bulb flange, the heat generated by brazing would most likely burn through the tank steel - have it soldered professionally.

Re: 1923 Model T Replacement Gas Tank Nice looking T. Where did you get the PU bed?

Re: 1923 Model T Replacement Gas Tank A bed like the one in the photo can be purchased from the good supply houses. I see his was hand built.
