Can a pick up haul a T?

Can a full size modern pickup truck haul a T running gear with maybe fenders and cowl?

Thanks that photo tells me what I want to know about size. A motor and transmission shouldn't be too bad if I can get it up front some how. Having to get a trailer can kill the deal for me as I can't afford to spend a whole lot. I am trying to get a T going for off road use on the farm.

I just had a complete Model T frame and running gear, minus the engine, delivered today. It is so light that two men easily picked it up and moved it around in my driveway. The engine is a pretty hefty lump of iron,though-you are going to need a hoist of some sort to get it in and out of your truck, if it is all in one piece.

Thanks, the engine assembly will be trick, I might be able to use a come along with a ramp to pull it in there. I have to locate a T within driving range and price range first. I keep seeing running gear that are suddenly valuable speedsters that ran when they were parked 50 years ago.

Chances are, anyone that has a loose engine has a way to pick it up and set it in your truck. Those Harbor Freight "cherry Pickers" are cheap, and if you start working on an old car, you're going to need one, too. Lots of places rent trailers cheap-you don't need a very big one to haul a T, and Craigslist always have a bunch of cheap trailers that would be suitable, too.

It depends

It depends on the size of your pick up truck bed ...

The route you take ...

The time of day you travel ...

In some states - having a load in a pick up bed with the tailgate down
will get you a ticket ...

You can easy haul what you are looking at. Just tie it down good and pump your tires up to max allowable pressure. My pickup isn't that modern, its a 1988 C1500 shortbox it only has a V6...but it hauls big ass loads every month.

parts for T were under it in the box plus other stuff. I drove it 1000 miles like that.

That is amazing Leakers, my truck is a GMC about the same year as your Chevy.

yes, take the front grease caps off and the spindles just clear the sides. blocks under the rear so the weight is not on the tailgate. loader on each end of the trip, leave the trailer home and forget the dot scales and troubles

A morris minor can carry a T if you dismantle the T first.

Parts yes, assembled vehicle maybe not, if you have a 1923 Coupe. It is six feet to the outside of the tires and 11.5 feet long. I rented a Uhaul car trailer to get my coupe home and it was less than $100. The Model T weighs about 1800-1900 pounds.

I knew a guy who put a Model A on the back of one of those of VW transporter "pickups". It will fit, but holy cow!

Leakers, I have been reluctant to get a trailer hitch for my 2007 F150 with a V6. I guess I am a wimp!
