'59 F-100 bolt pattern
 

Hi Guys. I just bought a '59 F-100 half ton short box step side. 292 V-8 backed up to a 3-speed column shift. It's a project truck for sure, but I've wanted a '57-'60 for a long time now and can't wait to get started. I'm somewhat new to Ford stuff and had a question for the experts: Right now the truck is on mismatched 'rollers' and one of the first things I want to do is get a set of matching steel wheels for it. It's five lug, but I'm not sure what the bolt pattern is. Does anyone know if other years of Ford truck will fit? Thanks! -Marc.

Not sure what other year wheels will fit, but this is how to measure the bolt circle.

Marc, as dmsfrr has given you the correct way to measure a 5 lug bolt
circle, you will find it will measure 5 1/2".
If you want 15" wheels with the correct hubcap mounting nubs, then
many of the 1948 Ford thru 1966 F-1 and F-100 pickups will have that
correct hubcap mounting nub, Known as "innie nub wheels" as the nubs
face inwards towards the lugnuts.
Most of those wheels were 15", although 16" wheels were available on
some Ford Pickups in those years.
1967 thru 1996 Ford F-100 pickups also had the 5.5" bolt circle wheels,
but they had "outie" hubcap mounting tabs, those tabs faced out away
from the lugnuts, and the hubcap tabs are much bigger then the innie
nubs, so ALL 1948 thru 1996 1/2 ton Ford pickup wheels will fit your '59
so just figure out which kind of small hubcap you want to use.
PS: If you want to use a full 15" wheelcover, then you can use any of the
1/2 ton wheels mentioned above.
Many other pickup makes, and some cars also use the 5.5" bolt circle,
but the correct '59 pickup hubcaps won't fit many of those wheels.

Thanks guys! For now I'm looking for something that'll hold her up evenly on all corners and might be good enough to go down the road until I can find the correct wheels for the truck, or a set of mags I like, just to dress her up a little bit. This is the style wheel you need. They were used up until about the mid 60's.

My dad had a 59 F100 up until about 1970 or 71. He had replaced the wheels and tires from a mid 50's Mercury sedan. He bought the Mercury for $25 for just the tires because they were new. The F100 looked nice because he also used the full wheel hub caps from the Merc.

You must be mistakin about Mid 50's Merc wheels, as 1951 was
the last year Mercury used a 5.5" bolt circle wheel.
The '52 thru '54 Merc went to the 4.5" bolt circle, and in 1955 Merc went
to a 5 lug x 5" bolt circle wheel and used that pattern thru 1960. ;)

It could have been a 50 or 51. I still remember the hubcaps well but not the car they came of. They were probably stainless and had the Mercury head on center. I tried looking them up but couldn't find any that I thought resembled them.
He could have swapped just the tires too. That was almost 50 years ago.

I've probably got a couple sets of the correct 15" wheels for a 59 F100. Not worth much if you drove in my yard but they do bring ok money plus shipping on ebay. Also have a set of bottle cab hubcaps that are pretty straight but need repainted. I think they are early 60s as the 59s were more smooth.
