Ebay # 184457436462 made me laugh yesterday and I see it's the same seller.

Just for fun look through all his listings.

Just did!! Think he has items on C-list that are also way overpriced even if you move the decimal point.

Obviously, a former "Corvette Hobbyist".

You look at his completed auctions and prices aren't so crazy, everything sold.

I came across this guy before, maybe he sells to the people who don’t know any better.

Re: for sale listing of the day!

to his defense... Ebay require TRS sellers to ship within on business day.. Some sellers when they are on vacation, they jack the prices to a extreme so nothing sells, but with the mindset that hey if it does sell, the profit was worth the penalty. Seeing he is TRS that is likely the reason for this.

Re: for sale listing of the day!

I sent the seller a message and told him to change it to $6.25.

I’ve got a better one for only $500.00........

Michael,

You're likely correct as nothing is going to sell at those prices.

Re: for sale listing of the day!

A lot of the ridiculously high priced stuff is to deter people from buying it through ebay but can be bought reasonably outside ebay.......free advertising and ebay trys everything to prevent it. Thats why they remove phone numbers and email address. I think the seller is on the fordbarn

Sometimes you can find some killer deals on ebay. I just bought the axe that George Washington used to chop down the cherry tree. It was completely restored with a new blade and handle. Five hundred bucks. How could I go wrong?

On the generator, even with that price, I think he'd have to pay you after you charged him for rust removal and rebuilding it.

I've thrown lots better stuff than that away.

Based on his location, I expect he's delirious from the rona meds. Let's hope he recovers.

I just bought it and I'm going to relist it. I think there is plenty of room for some profit.

Re: for sale listing of the day!

The only item I saw that wasn't priced in outer space was a front seat for a '38, '39 or '40 Fordor. ($165).

To all of you who don't know what the federal government has imposed on Paypal, if you sell more than 200 items and over $20K in sales, you will get a nastygram in the form of a 1099 from the IRS, so when the seller gets close to the limit for the year, the sellers sometimes add $500 to the price so IT DOES NOT SELL, and keeps the listing up. Rather than cancel the listing, and have to pay to list it again. You might want to re-think your comets.

So please explain why you would leave a ridiculous listing (by any sane calculation) up.
The only reason I have come to understand from your post is you are attempting to avoid a .35¢ fee?

If you don't want to exceed the $20k and 200 item thresholds, simply stop advertising. That's what I have been doing for a number of years. .
