Dual Oil Fuel Gauge The recent discussion on the Oil Chex gauge has kindled my interest in a dual oil-fuel gauge that I have. I think it may be for a 33-34 Ford. Both fuel and oil have a hydrostatic type glass tube.
I’m looking for any information or literature on this. Does the oil gauge measure quantity or pressure and exactly how does it function? Thanks, Ted |
Re: Dual Oil Fuel Gauge The Oil Chex gauge (not that informative) has "ON" or "OFF" in it's display. It functions by a simple electro-magnet that changes the little tin ON/OFF piece. Off the car you can turn it upside down and see it change the reading. I have one in my 32 5w. The fuel gauge is like stock. The 32 Chex gauges I have seen are the same unit that you can switch the bezel and glass from round to oval and use in a 33-34.

Re: Dual Oil Fuel Gauge A hydro-static oil pressure (presumably) gauge; that sounds pretty unique. The aftermarket Oil Chex gauge teamed up the simple existence of oil pressure above a predetermined threshold via an electrical pressure switch with an ammeter. Combined with the Ford-released combination fuel and temperature gauge covered all of the basic bases.

Re: Dual Oil Fuel Gauge 1 Attachment(s)
Dual Fuel & Temperature the temperature is a closed system reading out in a red column of fluid in a clear glass tube. Like the 35-36 temperature gauge. The fuel is typical of 32-35 with an open system. reading out in a red column of fluid in a clear glass tube.
