Best early V8 to buy This summer I plan to add another Ford to my collection , I have a nice 32 five window 1953 built hot rod and a 1939 Deluxe Coupe with a 53 Olds in it and a 32 highboy roadster . Everyone says early Fords are declining in values but I don't care I like them . Will buy a 32-36 Ford thinking 3 window or roadster , what one should I lean towards ?

Re: Best early V8 to buy My fav I can’t afford

Re: Best early V8 to buy If I were in your shoes, I would look for a 33 roadster.
|
Re: Best early V8 to buy Buy a nice 35 or 36 3 window Model 48-720 since you don't have one.
Just add hydraulic brakes. 31513 were produced. Look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6xdj9Rq4R4 |
Re: Best early V8 to buy I like the 36 3 window or a 34 3 window. Both are pricey for nice ones. I've had open cars and they were fun when I was a lot younger, but now I like to roll up the windows on a cold or rainy day.

Re: Best early V8 to buy Maybe think about a fat fender. My favorite (obviously) is the early model year '41 business coupe with the narrow door (no back seat) and without the extra (and unattractive) chrome of the late model year. Slick looking; more roomy inside; has the hydraulic brakes. And generally priced lower that other years of comparable quality.

Re: Best early V8 to buy I don't see a problem here! ! ??Buy one of each. You won't be sorry. A bit lighter in the wallet but the grin on your face will be ear to ear.

Re: Best early V8 to buy 35 three window!
But I’m a little biased. :) |
Re: Best early V8 to buy Already have a 39 Deluxe coupe .

So the 36 is a little rarer. |
Re: Best early V8 to buy Are you sure that a brand new fifty thousand dollar pickup truck isn't more practical? Me neither. I like the 1935 best.
|
Re: Best early V8 to buy IMHO the best value for money - 38 std or deluxe coupe.
Google some examples in black. |

Don't forget these guys, cut that number in half or less. any 32-36 3w would be alright. Not sure if you'd make money, but that's okay I guess. Like land, they are not making anymore. But everyone wants land. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...1&d=1552013165 |

Re: Best early V8 to buy 1936 Ford Deluxe Roadster, Model 68-710
Keep it 100% original! You will not regret your purchase! Gnolnor |
Re: Best early V8 to buy I'm going to depart a little here. In 20-30 yrs from now, the only old cars that might be allowed on the road will be grandfathered originalish cars. Maybe not....
Most rat rods will be scrapped anyways in that time frame. |
Re: Best early V8 to buy Most rat rods look to already be scrapped.

I did that once with a 31 Roadster trying to find a vacuum leak! |
Re: Best early V8 to buy Quote:
I do run a full time in-car vacuum gauge in my 36 just for fun. . |
Re: Best early V8 to buy Just for fun... So its fair to say, "general" speaking hierarchy:
truck 4d sedan tudor 5w coupe truck delivery 3w coupe roadster phaeton |
Re: Best early V8 to buy My preference is a 1934 Ford 3 Window -but now pricey.
However whatever you get I would suggest an unmodified car. It would not appear that you own one yet. There is something really nice in owning and driving a car that is just as it left the factory over 80 years ago -Karl |

Looks somewhat stock, except lowered all around with one of those new, aluminum, fuel injected 427 SBC, 6 speed, and Champ quick change for running gear. Something so cool about frying the tires for miles in an old Ford. |

Re: Best early V8 to buy 1 Attachment(s)
Don't overlook the beauty and functionality/utility of a Fordor Sedan. I got hooked on four door sedans when I first saw a '34 with all four of its 'suicide doors' open - a thing of beauty. But then, the '34 was the last year of 4 suicide doors....

It's a facebook era thing; the other side of the coin of the infamous one herein. |
Re: Best early V8 to buy I like 33s,34s, 35s, 36s, 37s, 38s, 39s & 40s. Coupes and roadsters, tudoors, etc,:)

Re: Best early V8 to buy I like you Indianapolis Racer, I really do. Same for all y’all guys but for the sake of all that is good and descent please please don’t buy another beautiful Ford and screw it up with a bastard engine.

Re: Best early V8 to buy Quote:
Love it. So there is no bad 32-36 vehicle. :) |
Re: Best early V8 to buy Well said, but I'd stretch it through '39 with the possible exception of the preceding model year.

Re: Best early V8 to buy It's well done. subtle.
Chopped and caddy sombreros. Not that it needed it. . |
Re: Best early V8 to buy I understand , the enjoyment is in the search , so far -1933 roadster stock , 1933 coupe three window with Chev V8 full fendered , 1932 Ford full fendered 8BA , 1934 coupe 3 window pristine stock .
|
Re: Best early V8 to buy Ya know, I look at all the 32 3 windows that are mod'ed. they are great. But have you really looked a stock 32 3w. Maybe there is not many. They look amazing.

Re: Best early V8 to buy 1 Attachment(s)
