1928 Touring Seats

Hello all.
My 28 A Touring/Phaeton's seat springs are completly bare with no fabric or stuffing remaining. Can any tell me how to determine Front/Rear, Cushion/ Backrest?
Thanks, Frank

Have you attempted to set them in place and see how they fit? I think each spring will fit best in its respective area. Look up Snyder's Ford parts, maybe you can see some drawings of their spring sets they manufacture.

Over the years I have tried many times to test fit but I can't make hide nor hair of the fittment. Non fit anywhere very well. Don't see much in the way of illustrations in Snyders but Mac's has some typical illustrations.Just hoping that there is some trick.

Do any of them fit anywhere? The bottom of the front should have a wooden bottom. The backseat back would be the longest. the bottoms will be stiffer sprung. Go look again. Maybe they aren't for your car. You could always get an upholstery kit and find what fits.

Thanks J. I'm quite sure that the seat spring assemblies are original to the car. There is no wood remaining. Your comments give me something to look for. I will look for the rear back rest that should be longer. Macs indicates that the two lower cushions could be the same - later '28. I will have a look and report back :-)

I got them figured out. I think. Determining was a bit difficult due to some deforming. Snyders was a bit more informative when I found the listings - back rests are the same front to back, cushions are different.
Your thoughts and ideas definitely helped,
Thanks J.

Cushions will have more/stronger springs that the squabs.
