Running flathead engine. This is the Mercury engine with the 4 inch crank, the 8CM heads and the 4 bolt carb. We have run this engine up to operating temp and it has 25 pounds of oil pressure at a warm idle, and there is very little smoke. There is considerable more smoke at higher RPM. This is an ideal candidate for a flathead build.
