https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...p;d=1631590389 Seen at a local Car Show a 1956 Ford Fairlane Fordor Victoria with extra "side trim" added. Is this something that Ford Motor Company Authorised? |

Re: Unusual extra side trim on 1956 Ford Fairlane Fordor Victoria. JC Whitney made a fortune off of that one!
|
Re: Unusual extra side trim on 1956 Ford Fairlane Fordor Victoria. And now, even JCWhitney is gone. I think they sold ALL of their stock items to that one owner, and had nothing left to sell.

Re: Unusual extra side trim on 1956 Ford Fairlane Fordor Victoria. Isn't J C Whitney now CarParts.com?

Doesn't have the factory optional gravel guards on front and rear fenders (they have something specially made there). Also doesn't have the factory optional stainless rocker panel guards, (again something else especially made). None of the body side trim is original, it's all custom made. The sun visor is not the factory optional part. That one must have been specially made or an aftermarket offering in Australia. Look at that radiator grille. Even it has been radically modified with more grille-bars than the factory parts. Looks to me like somebody had a lot of time and money on their hands that they needed to ruin the looks of an otherwise nice looking car IMO. |
Re: Unusual extra side trim on 1956 Ford Fairlane Fordor Victoria. Needs a continental kit and clearance lights on the mud flaps to be complete.

There is no way this is an Aussie model. All they had was the 4 door sedan. It must have been a US model brought over and converted to RHD. My question is why a red interior? |
Re: Unusual extra side trim on 1956 Ford Fairlane Fordor Victoria. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...;d=1631758093"
Herman Munster is correct. This is a fully imported model converted to RHD. This is an illustration for the Australian 1957 Ford Customline Fordor Sedan. |
