introduction

Hello all, I've been lurking on this forum for a year and a half now, and been a member for a little over one year. This is my first post.
I am rebuilding/restoring a 1928/29 AA truck. This is a Canadian built truck with a Brantford cab. The same as the yellow Pepsi truck on this forum. I am trying to restore it as an original truck. It has been a challenge finding information about Canadian AA's. My goal is to have it driving next summer, but I have a long way to go.
Who on here has any info on these trucks? I am in need of a coupling shaft and am having issues with some cab wood.
I have been on the AA-fords forum, but there isn't much activity on there, compared to this one.

Re: introduction

There is a very active Facebook group for AA's. Fred Carlton runs it and posts pictures daily. I don't have a link for the group, but it should be easy to find. :-)

Marcel, any update on your Brantford Cab project?

A fellow member in Ontario of the http://www.modelaowners.com of Canada has this 1928 original Brantford Cab.

Re: introduction

If you are missing the coupling shaft, you might do better to find a Ruxtell Overdrive to put in it.

Bring yer wallet, however, as last I knew Ruxtells for the AA are over $500 - and you may still need to get a diamond plate (28-29 rear axle forward support and includes the spline to prevent the Ruckstell from turning) and universal issues. (A mix&match universal is needed.)

Still, you may find the coupling shaft available from someone who has done the conversion for small money. It is a truck and 42mph is sort of ok for around town driving.

Ya gotta love "big-iron."
