1912/1913 Model T Steering Wheel restoration

I have a steering wheel from a 1912 or 1913 Model T. It's in reasonable shape, but definitely needs some refurbishing/restoration. Any advice on how to do that properly? Thanks!

A little sanding, some wood putty, maybe a bit of glue, black paint for the hub, stain and varnish for the wood and you are done.

I have my eye on a Steering Wheel, probably about the same age, on EBAY.
