Drag Link Ball Stud- Different?

1 Attachment(s)
I picked up some drag link ball studs and noticed some smaller ones. Does anybody have an idea what they are for?

I thought that too, but it is too big for the hole on a 40 rear I have here and the ball is larger than any of the balls on the shock arms I have here. I appreciate any suggestions.

Without a scale to judge dimensions from, I think the smaller ones are the normal ford type drag link / track rod ball studs. The necking is typical. The bigger ones do not have the necking and (in my opinion) would cause binding if used as a drag link / track rod link. They may be some sort of truck application, or not Ford parts.

I think tie rod may be the US expression for track rod.

Mart.

I was told today at a swap meet that they are possibly for a Ford Prefect. Does anybody in the Barn own one to confirm this?

R.H. Ones are 1952-53 p/s studs.
