Spacers? from rear hub/brake 1 Attachment(s)
Several weeks ago I disassembled the rear brakes and hub. Separated all parts into left and right. Now that I am putting it all back together I find I have four spacers for each rear wheel. Obviously something to do with mounting the brake carrier and/or grease baffle. But before the carrier? Between the Baffle and the Carrier? After the baffle?
These are 27/32" (.843") in overall diameter. The hole is 17/32" (.532") and the thickness is 1/4" (.248). I have checked Brattons Assembly diagrams but I cannot find them. As they were originally there, I am assuming they need to be there. Any ideas gratefully appreciated. |
Re: Spacers? from rear hub/brake On my car, the backing plate bolts threads were to short, not cut long enough down the bolt. They would not tighten up,( I needed about three threads ) some one add spacers to allow the nuts to move down the bolt to allow the nuts to be tighten up.

Re: Spacers? from rear hub/brake Those are for the early style grease baffles. They were originally crimped into the sheet metal but they fall out. Most repair by welding or brazing them back on. They are needed.
