Late 31 column mount When putting in a late 31 column mount in a 29 Tudor is there existing holes that it bolts to or do you have to drill any? Anybody have a picture of how it is installed?

Re: Late 31 column mount On my '29 roadster I tried used a "sandwich" strap like is illustrated. However, being 6 ft/235 lbs it would have put the steering wheel even closer
to my knees. So, I opted to just drill a hole in the windshield/cowl steel cross bracket: I just can't remember the correct name for the cross bracket. Bob-A:D |
Re: Late 31 column mount Notice the spacer/adapter plate eliminates drilling any holes in the tank lip. Also very little leg room lost. The photo above is of the repo part. The originals are much nicer. If you try to eliminate the spacer, you might have difficulty keeping the steering column away from the original bracket. You end up with a very stout support. I love mine.
