Introduction to my 50 fordor 13 Attachment(s)
Here’s the 50 fordor I’ve been working on, It came from a farm in Saskatchewan and the plates that were on it are from 64’, odometer stopped at 25000miles, I don’t think it could have rolled over being a farm car that was on the road for 14 years, interior is in good shape (other than mice and sun/water damage), it was sitting with no engine in it and the story was that the engine went out in the grain truck one year so they pulled it out of the car, it’s been a fun project car for my dad and I and it’s awesome to drive, so far plan on keeping it original/unrestored, the engine it came with had crooked valve seats so ended up finding (supposed) good engine for 200 but it turns out that the rob bearings are pretty worn out and it goes through a lot of oil so I’m looking at getting the first one rebuilt

Re: Introduction to my 50 fordor Make sure you pressure test the block for cracks before starting the rebuild. Not doing so can be an expensive mistake.
I had a '51 Fordor in high school; it got me hooked on "shoeboxes". Yours is in a lot better shape than mine was. |

My Fordor was my first Flathead Ford powered vehicle and I fell right in love with that little motor. I agree, there’re a great driving car!

Re: Introduction to my 50 fordor Nice find, very comfortable cars to ride and drive. I'm always shocked at how easy they are to get in and out of, and so much room.

Re: Introduction to my 50 fordor I had a '51 Deluxe Fordor in '78. It had the optional rocker arm stainless trim. Rockers and rear quarters had bad rustholes, but the flathead ran good. Drove it to work from '78 - '81 and left it sit in the backyard for three years when I left town to go to work in Texas. When I came back, I had it hauled off to a junkyard, but some guy who had a '49 bought it straight out from them. Mine had an all black exterior with mohair interior (but interior upholstery was badly torn up. I had a '55 (and still have the same '55) that I was driving, so I didn't need the '51 anymore.

Re: Introduction to my 50 fordor I also had a 51 Fordor in high school, and drove it through college. Stiil have it and nearly have it roadworthy again

Re: Introduction to my 50 fordor Brings back memories my fist car was a ‘50 two door sedan paid $5. for it in 1964, purchased from Dads co-worker (hence the low price). I’m sure you’ll make good memories once it’s on the road.
