Re: Any recomendations I am sure you can find a good used one much cheaper than having yours rebuilt.

Re: Any recomendations There are several 1932 Ford ammeters in the upcoming Gene Hetland ford parts auction. Just exactly what is wrong with your ammeter ? Does it not just work or is it burnt or damaged to look at. I have repaired many gauges but am in Australia. Regards, Kevin.

Thanks BUT mine is in GERMAN and for a German 32, none of those are "floating Around". on "Ebay" OR in the Gene Hetland auction!!! |

As you see above mine is "stuck" at 10 (or 12). The needle giggles and moves as IF it were normally on "0" but its stuck there at 10. I am going to put it on an amp machine and try and run a negative amperage pull to see IF the needle moves like it should BUT even still It will need a repair of some sort!!!! |
Re: Any recomendations I have heard good things about John Wolf and Co. Inc. in Willoughby, OH.

Re: Any recomendations If you can't fix yours how about getting a US one and install your German face.

Re: Any recomendations The old Model A instruments were easy to disassemble if you had the special tool to take the terminals apart but I don't know about the 1932 & later and especially those that may have been made in the country of origin. If there is a clock spring in there, it may be damaged or something slipped in the spindle shaft that the pointer is attached to. Some of the pointers can slip off center.
