Barn Find Model T Roadster Pick up

4 Attachment(s)
I found a T Roadster Pick up in a barn; I've been told it's been there for decades; photos show it's fairly complete, i.e. all body pieces, radiator/grille, wheels, engine, etc. Advice on turning it over, etc.?

Put oil down the plug holes and try and turn it over. If it's is real hard don't try and force it. If it won't mix up some acetone and automatic trans fluid. And let it sit. It schould loosen stuff up. Post some pics of it.

Must be phone pix. From what little I can see of the car, my first guess is 1917 or 1918. Better photos showing more of it might disprove that.

Yes, they are phone photo's my son took….I own a '36 dump truck, and am not that familiar w/the T's; but research I did showed the roadster p-ups built in mid '20's…or am I mistaken? Thanks for your responses.

Appears to be a '19-'21, was probably a touring car, and the back seat is cut off. Farmers did that a bunch and made little truck beds of wood for the back end. Can't see a top or top bows.

Straight folding windshield, wood firewall, magneto horn, and looks like no generator, maybe a starter car, a battery is on the running board.

Lots of work to do to get that old T running. Needs complete going thru.

Interesting..thanks….question is, restorable or a parts vehicle….all depends on how much a person's willing to do!

Yep, and how much $ to make it the way you want it.

Restored with every part to factory like-new.... or a driver with lots of wear and looks of old.

This one found years ago in a barn,.... is part of my stable now,.... just needed paint, and front seat upholstery and top cover, plus a hood, and some wheels and tires.

Looks nice! What year?
I really need to go an look at this one…my son found it through his girlfriend's grandfather….make a determination what it is, if it's worthy of "resources" and my time!

What do they want for it? Have they given you a idea? Seeing it now I would offer 500 bucks.

Re: Barn Find Model T Roadster Pick up

I'm told it's mine, for zero…..just need the owner, who's elderly to write up bill of sale, then clear out brush in front of barn, obviously inside of barn….it's located east of Richmond, VA may be 70 miles…I live in eastern NC….I'm presently restoring a '60 Willys wagon…so another project isn't what I need, but this may be worth the effort….thus my reason for addressing the forum.

That's great. Just put it away for another time.

Wow that's great. I'm about 50 miles north of Richmond, wish I'd stumbled over it. Congrats.

Somebody cared about that car to not let it go to the scrap drives (WWII)! And look at the dressy radiator cap.

Re: Barn Find Model T Roadster Pick up

Trivia...Ford, who made the first pick-up trucks,
shipped them to dealers in crates that the new

owners had to assemble using the crates as the

beds of the trucks. The new owners had to go to

the dealers to get them, thus they had to "pick-up"

the trucks.
And now you know the "rest of the story".
