Ark-Les switch question Hoping someone can tell me the bulb size used in these aftermarket switches that have the light socket located under the actuating knob. This would be on a 6V system.

Re: Ark-Les switch question 51 or 53

Re: Ark-Les switch question Have you removed one to make sure it's not an LED? Incandescent bulbs are rapidly becoming museum pieces and the off beat tiny ones may be made of unobtanium.

Re: Ark-Les switch question There was no bulb in the switch. I found a #51 bulb in my stash and it drops into the space below the switch knob, but rattles around in the space when I shake the switch.
Question, is there some type of adapter perhaps that the bulb base fits into and drops into the space? I seem to be missing something here. The inner diameter of the “bulb well” is around 3/8”. The #51 bulb base is slightly smaller than that. |
Re: Ark-Les switch question It sounds like the #51 bulb is the correct bulb.
It has a 9mm (.355) base diameter. If the bulb engages correctly on the pins and center contact, just put a single wrap of masking or other tape around the base above the pins to reduce any perceived looseness. |
Re: Ark-Les switch question Thanks all for your input on this.

Re: Ark-Les switch question There may have been a piece in there that deteriorated over time but I don't know. Maybe a spring? This was an old thread on the subject.
