Assembly plant's 1928 openings...

I am down to just three Ford assembly plants as far as just when they opened in 1928 for Model A/AA Ford production.

They are St. Louis, Buffalo and Los Angles.

If anyone can provide to me a newspaper clipping of any of the three plans listed above as to when they opened in 1928, you will recieve all three of the books for which I am doing: 1) "A" Passenger vehicles; 2) "A" Commercial vehicles; and 3) "AA" Trucks.

Thanks to all who have provided information on the other Ford plants.

Oh Mr. "1 star"...I might even give you a book or two if you let us know who you are...HA!

Steve,
I don't have an answer to your quiz, but have you been able to identify the letter code for the Milwaukee assembly plant? My 1930 Tudor has a body stamp R5534. The car has spent its whole life in Wisconsin. The serial (engine) number is A3246710 which is prior to the Richmond, CA plant opening.

Thanks!

Dick,

I think the jury is still out on that but I believe that Dave Sturgesm the guru of assembly plant codes, believes that the "R" is not only for Richmond, but for Milwaukee also.

More research is still needed on that one.

Hey Pluck: Have you updated your listing? I don't have time today to check. Best regards, Jim...

I can find Buffalo NY when they opened the new plant in 1931 but nothing before that.
