identifying transmission gears

I just picked up a T86 overdrive transmission for my 57 wagon. It is apparently out of a 61 ford car and appears to be just what I need. The trans and overdrive unit are in great shape, all except the imput shaft which looks like it was exposed to the weather. The shaft that goes into the pilot bearing is badly deteriorated. I can't think of a way to fix this so it looks like I need another imput shaft. My question is, is there a parts book available that I can check out how many different imput shafts were used in the T86 and their application? is there a good source of manual trans parts. thanks

You might want to check with www.usapartssupply.com but give them a call to ask them, they do stock some gears and repair parts.

You would the the 49/59 FORD MPC (Master Parts Catalog). Parts lists would be detailed there.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your responses. Has anyone out there purchased one of these master parts catalogs that are available on CD ROM?

If you don't know what make/model it came out of, you will have to do a tooth count on the main drive gear to have a chance to ID the part. Pop the cover, mark a tooth and do a count. We may have the gear.....

If it is marked FORD LICENSED, it will be a quality product.

Thanks Mac. It has 18 teeth. I'll bring it with me to Owensville this weekend so that you can take a look.
