Here in Lafayette we lucked out, sort of. We were on the edge of the cone and had numerous bands of wind and rain all night and this morning. Officially just below 60 mph. My big rain gauge was past the 5" mark with the funnel running over. Still lots of tree damage and some flooding. It entered La. as a cat 4 and this morning heading for north La. Shreveport still a cat 2.

I was at Ft Polk (Shreveport), for a two months, when in the Army. I was privileged to go on pass to Lake Charles, a very beautiful Southern town. A highlight of my service.

I wish everyone well there and hope the people and town survive.

My sisters live in NW Houston, not a drop of rain. But Louisiana did not fair as well. Hope they get back on their feet soon.

We left Sunday and went to the deer lease, I've been through enough of them to know they can change course at the last minute, then it;s too late to leave. Luckly we escaped with only a little rain and wind. Cars are stored in a higher elevation than where we live. Had 4 ft. in house in Ike, wont stay anymore. Al

Glad people are okay. Saw some limited stuff from drones. Heavy flooding and roof/building damage on the coast. Too early in the Hurricane season. But it's weather. As they say when in a foxhole... Pray for the best.

I don't think so. IIRC, he is in SW Florida and the hurricane went through Louisiana.

Thanks for the love. We are struggling with internal headwind as well.

We have strong Constitutions, both in body and writing.

With friends like you and the Grace of God we will cleanse and puzzle our way outward and upward and be better for it.

Do keep the Fosters vats bubbling, however.

I have written about my adventures with hurricanes, both on the ground and in the air. I have 43 airborne penetrations and great respect. My first assignment was as a weather recon pilot. Loved every second of flying the WB-50. our reports were used world wide and we saved many lives

My Daddy was in WWI and passed ini1956 before I finished college and a flying career. I know he would have been very proud of my service

Clem...No braggin', mind you but I have many hundreds, if not thousands of low-level boudoir penetrations, with great enjoyment. I loved every second of my rides, also. I created only a couple of lives. I must admit though, that your duty was likely much more honorable than any of my covert e-missions. Your service is certainly appreciated! You are the only person I've ever known to have anything to do with a B-50. DD
