1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Windshield
 

I got a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 tudoor hardtop, windshield is cracked. Are all 1957 windshield the same?

There were two, one for the FAIRLANE/FAIRLANE 500 and one for the CUSTOM/CUSTOM 300 (incl SW and RANCHERO)

Height. They are actually two different cars.

A W/S should be readily available.

What is the measurement on the windshield? The height and wight. So I won't get the wrong one.

I suspect the front windshield glass is different between the Fairlane series and the Custom series. I know for a FACT that the rear glass is different. My 17 year old self found that out long ago.

The 1957/58 FAIRLANE SERIES and CUSTOM SERIES were two different cars other than the front sheet metal, same as the 1955/56 FAIRLANE and lower trim levels.

Completely DIFFERENT and correct.

Nothing from the firewall going back fits.. well.. some interior pieces.... but they are very different.
The Glass on a 500 series and the 300 series are totally different.. except the glass for the vent windows.

Rancheros share the same as a 300 series
In 1957, Ford. made over 20 different models.. no car company ever did that and never has again.
That does not include the Merc division or Truck division......

Get the model # off the VIN tag. This is the only way to make sure you get the right glass.

And the 500 windshield fits the Ranger/Pacer series Edsel.

Some local glass shops do deal with suppliers for classic cars and trucks and also have installers that are knowledgeable so check around. I'm lucky where I'm at to have such a shop so I don't have to deal with trucking companies for shipping and the cost of a residential delivery.
