Is this intake manifold an early Lincoln V-12 or even a Ford product ?

Yes, it is a V-12 intake, even though the runners make it look like an EIGHT cylinder intake. Check the 8 intake ports atop the V-12 block. DD https://th.bing.com/th/id/Rd7a346413...sl=&pid=ImgRaw |

Re: What does this intake manifold fit ? Thank again V8. What confounded me was the 8 ports for a V-12. I can see how the ports are siamesed. The photo of the V-12 engine cleared that right up. A picture is worth lots guesswork. Is this manifold an early one, as I believe I have seen other V-12 manifolds that looked different.

Ya! its a little shorter than the one that goes on this rare V14 Lincoln.

Re: What does this intake manifold fit ? Just curious guys; how much does it cost to have one of them V-14's balanced?
|
Re: What does this intake manifold fit ? .
For you "non-believers" out there, these V-14s are not all that rare. To answer the "tubman's" question, balancing probably ain't cheap 'cause of the extra math involved. DD https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...6&d=1420420181 https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...4&d=1442497613 |
Re: What does this intake manifold fit ? It is amazing that one little two barrel carb can mix enough fuel and air for all those cylinders.

Not really when you think about a 283 Chevy, for instance, or even a 307 Chevy V-8 with 2 bbl. carbs. The Lincoln V-12 was a "mighty" 267 cu. in.....ONLY 12 inches bigger than a 255" Merc. DD |
Re: What does this intake manifold fit ? Yeah, but Ford engineers decided the Merc needed a bigger carb. You would think they would have wanted a larger one for this as well. Perhaps nothing suitable was available at the time. I had a Stromberg at one time that had "LZ" on it rather that "97"' was that a larger carb?
Edit : As to the 283's and 307's; they have Rochester 2G's that flow at least twice as much as a 94 or 97. |
Re: What does this intake manifold fit ? What a neat mill....i want one just to look at..."Got 14 cylinders and use them all, overdrive tranny, she just won't stall......." A real "hot rod Lincoln! 4 carbs instead of 3.
Sounds pretty cool to me. Tubman, LZ; Lincoln Zepher ??? |
Re: What does this intake manifold fit ? That's what I always thought.

Re: What does this intake manifold fit ? Whats that 14 cylinder weigh ?

Re: What does this intake manifold fit ? I have never seen or heard of a V14 Ford or Lincoln engine, until now, and can find no history of one, so when were these made?
