Front Spring question!! I know in the rear end the numbers of leaves change with some bodies like a roadster en the rear have 7 leaves but my question came because i´m building a speedster, the body in aluminium, the weight may be is minor than a roadster, may be 1800 kg or less, But the real question is in the front: saw in the web a guy he took out 3 leaves of the front for lowered. Its that good for the car? The weight of the engine is the same in all types of bodies and i think all models A came with 10 leaves in the front!!

Re: Front Spring question!! you should be fine
i would reverse the eyes too make sure you shorten the second leaf on both sides after you reverse the eye tk |
Re: Front Spring question!! Three seems a lot to me considering as you have said, the engine is the same weight for all body styles. I think Kelley has the right idea of reversing the eyes though.

Re: Front Spring question!! When I bought my 29 town sedan the owner had taken two or three leaves out of the front spring to "lower" it some, but when I took it apart I found two of the remaining leaves broken. Of course a town sedan is much heavier than a roadster but doing something other than removing spring leaves is a better option in my opinion.

Re: Front Spring question!! Thank you guys!! I think the better option is reverse the eyes of the springs... Do you know how many inch lowered the car by reversing the springs?

Re: Front Spring question!! My speedster rode very very stiff with stock springs and after market shocks. Took one leaf out of front and rear. Much improved ride and handling.
