Model A door tops

My 30 coupe has two different types of door tops. One has a wood strip held on by 3 screws and one has a metal top that looks like it is seamed and folded together (making glass replacement difficult) can someone please enlighten me as to what year doors I have on my coupe? Many thanks.

Maybe post some pix 46Chief, I have not seen coupe doors with a wooden top, only the metal "caps" held on with three screws.

All Coupe and Tudor models had metal caps on the top of the doors. As noted they were held on with three screws. On each of the two corners that face the inside of the car there is what appears to be a countersunk rivet. Those are actually just pins that are part of the cap and release from the door when the cap is tilted off.

Maybe the original cap was lost or damaged, and the previous owner fabricated a wooden replacement?

If a job like this had been done by someone like my Dad, it would look and work as if it was a factory part.

If you need the door tops I'm sure my friend has some.

I bought one from Berts a couple of years ago, used original.
