2 Bolt Oil Filters What years used the 2 bolt head mounted oil filters? I am used to stumbling onto the 3 bolt oil filters, but recently I have stumbled onto 2 of the 2 bolt oil filters. One is marked Purolator so am sure it is aftermarket. The other is not marked. I presume they are for the 21 stud engines but not sure if they are correct for one year or another. Thanks Rod

Re: 2 Bolt Oil Filters That looks like something that might be used on a tractor or industrial set up.

Re: 2 Bolt Oil Filters 1 Attachment(s)
If it were mounted on the head would the filter be level?
Do the bolt holes line up with the head bolt pattern? |
Re: 2 Bolt Oil Filters Don't know what they were used on but Purolator was a great filter back in the day. Don't know if they are still in business or not.

Re: 2 Bolt Oil Filters The Purolator is on my 37 21 stud and sits level. The one pictured here seems to be the same angle, but I have not had them side by side. The third one has a home made bracket and was on my 59A engine. I seem to be a magnet for these things. When the snow stops blowing around I will try to get out to the farm and get pics of the other 2. The one pictured here was given to me by a good friend, who wants me to sell it for him and split the money so just trying to figure these out. I would imagine the Purolator will be an easier sell than this one with no brand stamped on the lid. Thanks Rod
